Samsung puts on the market 1,8-inch SSD 64 GB
The next Samsung novelty is the solid-state drive (SSD) on the flash-memory basis. The volume of the product executed in the form - factor of 1,8 inches equals 64 GB. In the basis of submitted SSD - SLC NAND chips of 8 GB density. Application of SLC as they affirm, has allowed to increase the drive work speed. Speed of reading has grown by 20 %, records - 60 %, in comparison with SSD of 32 GB volume which have been submitted by the company last year. For comparison: reading speed of the new drive - 64 Mb / s, last year’s - 53 Mb / s, 60 GB winchester reads the data with a speed of 15 Mb / s. The same ratio is typical for recording: 45, 30, 7 Mb / s, correspondingly. Samsung plans the beginning of 1,8-inch SSD 64 GB gross production in the second quarter of the current year.
